Privacy Policy

The short version: Zenin stores the goals and habits you create so you can access them across your devices. We don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and we only share data with the small set of service providers needed to run the app. You can delete your account and data at any time.

This Privacy Policy explains how Zenin ("Zenin", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Zenin mobile application and related services (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

Account information. When you sign in (including via Google Sign-In or email), we receive your email address and a unique account identifier used to authenticate you.
Your content. The goals, habits, pillars, streaks, reflections, and progress data you create in the App.
Communications. If you contact us for support, we keep the messages you send us.

Information collected automatically

Usage & device data. Basic, non-identifying technical information such as app version, device type, and operating system, used to keep the App working and diagnose problems.
Subscription status. Whether you hold an active subscription (Free, Premium, or Elite), provided to us by Apple. We never receive your full payment card details.

2. How we use your information

To provide the core functionality of the App — saving your goals and syncing them across your devices.
To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
To deliver optional features you enable, such as daily reminders and the AI Life Audit / AI coach.
To process and validate your subscription through Apple.
To maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the App.
To respond to your support requests.

3. AI features

If you use the AI Life Audit or AI coaching features, a summary of the relevant goal and progress data you choose to analyze is sent to our AI processing provider (Anthropic) solely to generate your personalized feedback. This data is used only to produce your result and is not used to train third-party models. You can choose not to use these features.

4. How your information is shared

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers who help us operate the App, including:

Supabase — secure cloud database and authentication (stores your account and content).
Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google Sign-In.
Apple — for subscription purchases and validation via the App Store and StoreKit.
Anthropic — only when you use AI features, to generate your results.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Zenin and its users.

5. Data retention

We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your associated personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it by law.

6. Your rights and choices

Account deletion. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time directly in the app, from Settings → Delete Account. This action is immediate and irreversible.
Access. You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you by emailing us.
Notifications. You can turn reminders on or off at any time in the App or your device settings.
Sign out. You can sign out of your account at any time from the Settings screen.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, including the right to access, correct, or restrict the use of your personal data. Contact us to exercise these rights.

7. Data security

We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and limit access to it.

8. Children's privacy

Zenin is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. International users

Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own, including by the service providers listed above. By using the App, you consent to this transfer.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes may be communicated within the App.
